Vientiane, capital of the Democratic People’s Republic of Laos, was host of the 19th Meeting of Senior Officials of the Forum for Cooperation for Latin America and East Asia (FEALAC) from November 19th to 22nd, in which Panama participated actively co-chairing with Japan in the Science, Technology, Innovation and Education working group.
This meeting is of prime importance as it is a unique forum for inter-regional cooperation, where the countries of Latin America and East Asia develop different cooperation and development assistance projects, which can be presented and adopted by these countries for the promotion and promotion of cooperation between both regions. This cooperation is closely linked to our government policy and the actions carried out by the Plan Panamá Coopera 2020-2030.
During the 5th meeting of the Science, Technology, Innovation and Education working group, which co-presides Panama with Japan; the member countries thanked Panama and Japan for their work in coordinating this group over the last two years and, in turn, decided by consensus the re-election of both countries for a new period of two years in that working group.
Additionally, in this 19th Meeting of Senior Officials of FEALAC, several bilateral meetings of the delegation of Panama with representatives of other Southeast Asian countries were held, following the guidelines of the Falcon policy carried out by the government of the Republic of Panama.
For its part, Panama thanked the member states of FEALAC for their vote of confidence and additionally called for more member countries to participate in cooperation projects.
